Bio for Amalís
Amalís Cintrón is the director and founder of SyT. She was born on August 25, 1990 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
She grew up as an athlete and studied languages as a university career but her interest in dance and the arts was always present.
Interestingly, she came to Salsa after studying in France and having the desire to honor her Puerto Rican roots. She danced the famous “pa'lante y pa'tras” that her mother had taught her until she decided to enter fully into Salsa as an adult and having finished a university degree.
She has always been a student and a teacher. She has studied with teachers in Puerto Rico, the United States, Cuba and Europe. From Salsa to Neuro Dance, Dominican Bachata, Puerto Rican Bomba, Rumba, Afro-Cuban rhythms, popular rhythms etc etc... Courses in meditation, wellness and mindfulness.
She has worked and/or danced with artists such as Willie Rosario, Carlos D'Castro, Zayra Pola, Galdy Santiago, among others...
She has taught in Holland, Sweden, Greece, Ohio, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
He leads the SyT class program, a project for the elderly in collaboration with the Municipality of San Juan and some special events.
